Weird lights, crop circles and disappearing livestock are worrying the Amish of Lancaster, PA. Then two brothers who at first glance appear to be old order Amish show up at a barn-raising..
They claim to be visiting from another world and ask permission to come live and work for the Esh family in exchange for food and board until their ship can be repaired. The father agrees on the condition that they show him evidence of their “tall tale”; never expecting them to be able to. He is forced to honor his promise when they show him incontrovertible proof. One of the brothers, Seth, has already fallen in love with Leroy’s oldest daughter, Rebecca, believing he has found his soul mate. Despite her misgivings; Rebecca is irresistibly drawn to Seth. Their love for each other deepens even while the brother’s presence in the community causes headaches for the Esh family.
Bird-in-Hand, already disrupted because of all of the weird paranormal activity, find itself the target of rabid media attention and the focus of a relentless female reporter who believes she has stumbled upon the “scoop” of the century. Jessica Lynch is in hot pursuit on the brother’s trail, unbeknownst to Seth who is close to imperiling his own world because of his forbidden love for Rebecca.
What Others Are Saying About In Plain Sight
“I am usually fairly eloquent but for once I am struggling to describe this book, and trust me that is a good thing. What genre does it fall into, it’s Amish, it’s contemporary fiction, it’s a romance, it’s a mystery, it’s sci fi, it’s fantasy, it’s Christian, it’s biblical, it’s paranormal, in fact it’s all these and more wrapped up into one fantastic story. I started reading with a little bit of trepidation as I’m not really a paranormal fan and I was a bit puzzled as to what it was really all about, and how Amish and Paranormal would fit together. However, I like Amish books so I thought I would give it a go. Marlyne Giron’s writing soon swept me up into the story, and I was completely hooked. I loved all the characters and they were all true to life. Seth and Silas’s characters were extremely well drawn and I could picture them perfectly. It’s a story where you need to suspend belief and go with the flow and it is extremely entertaining, involving and engrossing. I had to keep reading to find out what happened. I couldn’t figure out at all how this was going to end, and when the end came it was a complete surprise. However,I realized the clues were there all along, and I should have known. This is a book that everyone should read, whatever genre you like. There is something here for everyone. Buy it and read it immediately. You will not regret it. It is 100% entertainment.” – Wendy Jones, UK
“In Plain Sight” is an exciting new book. Once I read the first page I just had to keep reading to see what would happen next. It’s a book about the Amish but it’s not like all the other Amish books. It has a unique topic which I’ve never encountered in an Amish based novel before: the paranormal! And not in the frightening way but in a way of giving, love, and an added dash of humor. Mrs. Giron keeps to the Amish way of life and to their beliefs throughout the book. She also touches on the fear of shunning but with that she also teaches us about family, believing in the goodness of others, and of and God’s will. I congratulate Mrs. Giron for venturing into a topic that most wouldn’t consider. It has resulted into an exciting new novel that I give 5++ stars to! I’ve read all 3 of her books and recommend each one. I must say that “In Plain Sight” has been my favorite thus far. I look forward to her next book!” Taliasba (Amazon review)
